Date: 10/30/12 5:22 AM Just went to my first John Deer embroidery event at The Lakeland Center in central Florida. I have about a year of doing embroidery. I came away with a lot of new ideas, and with Christmas around the corner, I've got some good projects to do. They introduce you to digitizing, and a lot of embroidery tricks. It was 2 days from 9-5 with 5 projects the first day and 4 projects the second day. Day one was hula theme with everyone wearing hawiaii shirts. They provided a light breakfast, great box lunch and yummy fudge brownies, cookies for dessert. We had 4 people per table with Brother quatros 2 machines. Each person had a turn making a project. They had giveaway contest thurout the day. Day 2 was bring in something you embroidered. We got a CD with the projects on it to do at home. It was a great 2 days If you are new at embroidery, this is for you. -- Edited on 10/30/12 6:37 AM -- |

Date: 10/31/12 1:51 PM I agree. I went to one and had a blast. Highly recommended! At ours they provided BabyLock TOL machines. It was nice to see the machine in action. Tons of "deals" on designs and it was great to be introduced to all the new fangled ways to use embroidery. They have events all over the country. ------ "The problem is not that there are problems. Date: 10/31/12 10:33 PM Yep, they're fun.
Dangerous places for a SMAD epidemic to break out, though. LOL
I bought an Ellisimo Gold after having a good chance to play with one there.

On my radar someday: Babylock Serger, and some machine for travel.
My dearest wish is to have Bernina come out with a machine that doesn't give me a reason to *not* buy it.
