Zipper in A Wool Skirt Which application method would you use?

It's her fabric that she brought me and it's a fairly thick wool fabric. I'm up to the point of putting the zipper in and can't decide whether to use a centered or lapped application. I'm worried that the lap will kind of stand out and look bulky but I'm not usually a fan of a centered zipper. Does anyone have any suggestions or comments on how I should handle this zipper application?

It might work, as the bulky material would tend to roll over the teeth. Otherwise a lapped zipper should be ok, but make sure the lap part is wide enough to take a good press and cover the zipper pull really well. I have a skirt made out of a thicker wool where I inserted a lapped zipper application. I'll to go play around with scraps and different styles of inserting the zipper. I hadn't even thought of an invisible zipper. Food for thought ... and play.

So if there is a waistband seam, be sure to test out a seam with the invisible. It can be done, but you have to sew far enough away from the zipper teeth that the zipper is no longer invisible at the seam junction. I've done a lapped zipper in fairly thick fabric. It's visible, but not obtrusive. I didn't have an invisible one in a colour that would work, so lapped it was. It actually turned out much better than I had thought it would. A really, really good pressing did wonders! No need to hand pick this zipper as the stitching absolutely disappears into the fabric. Thanks to all for the input. It was like having my hand held while I was stitching and made me confident that it was going to turn out nicely.
