looking for the absolute thinnest jersey or knits

I'm an hour and a half from Mood in LA and can say there's a LOT more in the store--bearing the same general adjectives such as "sheer," "featherweight", and so on--than appears on the website. You actually have to put your hands on them, because there is so much more, in so many different fabrics and blends, than you can even believe. Describe what you're looking for, and ask for swatches of anything you're interested in. You will not regret it.

I would send them a message to see what they have...good luck. ------ Get the quilters OUT OF MY WAY!

Just purchased and received the thinnest linen blend jersey knit from Fabricmart.com. Actually came on here to determine what the heck to use it for as it is almost see-through. Beautiful slubs in chili red, I love the color, but it looks like it should be doubled. Fabricmart has some other colors which are probably as sheer. What are you going to use it for?

I got that one from fabricmart a year or two ago, and it had been biased during construction, which showed up as a horrible twist after I washed and dried it before cutting. This fault cannot be corrected by any 'grain-straightening' process at home. They did allow me to return it, but it was not a friendly transaction. It is quite possible, of course, that yours is from a different production lot, and you won't have the same difficulty I did. Interestingly, I have a number of other linen jerseys from Mood in LA, and none of them showed any biasing after being washed and dried.

I have several loose tops of this sheer linen knit, and they look great worn over another lightweight tee or cami. The fabric is wonderfully, strangely cool in hot weather, too. Obviously, though, you can't wear a single layer of this type out of doors without attracting a fair amount of attention.
