Date: 11/2/12 4:19 PM I'm full of questions today!
Anyway, I'm looking to invest in several additional presser feet for my machine -- a Brother XR6060. However, even on the official Brother site, next to no accessory feet are listed as compatible with my machine (aside from the ones it came with). The operation manual only lists three compatible feet -- the SA 140 walking foot and two other feet I won't need, since I don't quilt.
At least I know there's a walking foot that'll work with my machine, bur I want a narrow/rolled hem foot, a stich-in-the-ditch foot, an open-toed applique foot, and yadda yadda yadda.
The machine looks like it has what I presume to be a universal snap-on foot system ... will most generic "works with Brother" feet cooperate with my machine? Is this another thing I'm making more difficult than it needs to be? Any insight would be awesome! ------ Humor, DIY escapades, pop culture, kitsch and creative miscellany from a bipolar bureaucrat with a sewing machine, a bottle of prozac, and an occasionally loose grip on reality -- http://sewciopathic.com ... plus, stuff for sale(!) at sewciopathic.etsy.com. |

Date: 11/2/12 4:54 PM Here is a link to the feet which are compatible with the XR4040, so probably they will work on your machine - you might give a call to a dealer to make sure when you do want to purchase! You have to click on the Accessories tab and then choose Presser Feet.
Should maybe be these feet! -- Edited on 11/2/12 4:54 PM -- ------ "Be kind whenever possible. It is always possible."

Date: 11/3/12 10:05 PM Nancys Notions sells feet too. You may want to give one of her Sewing Advisors a call. I usually find them quite helpful and everything is fully returnable. ------ re-living my youth through sewing... |

Date: 11/4/12 10:52 PM You can use any Brother 7mm feet with your machine. The generic don't always line up properly where the needle comes down. If a generic foot covers a part of the needle plate opening you will break a needle. Never use Janome/Kenmore feet because the needle position isn't the same distance between these brands. ------ Janome10001, Babylock ESG3, Brother ULT 2001, White 634D serger, Pfaff 1472, Singer featherweight, Singer 14T957Dc, Bernina FunLock 009DCC coverlock, Brother PQ1500S, Janome CP900. |
