Date: 11/3/12 10:53 PM Has anyone tried the Gingher rotary cutters? I love my Gingher scissors. So far I have used Olfa rotary cutters only, and I think there has to be a better product.
They are $$, but with the upcoming coupons deals, they would be more reasonable.

Date: 11/4/12 5:04 AM i bought the Gingher rotary cutter a few months ago. I found the blade to be dull. I e-mailed them and they sent a new blade that is working better. By the way, it was Friskars who answered and handled the transaction. |

Date: 11/4/12 8:22 AM I bought a Gingher rotary cutter a few weeks back also, and I love it. Which is saying a lot considering I really am not a rotary cutter fan. I had one several years ago, probably Fiskars and just hated it. I let it go with a machine I sold back then too.
I am curious as to how long a blade lasts normally? The replacements are sure expensive too! ------

 1 member likes this. I love rotary cutters and bought a cute flowered Gingher one several years ago. Alas, I don't care for it -- blades dulled more quickly and seemed to develop more skipped spots than my Olfa cutters. I like the shape and feel of it but now I only use it for cutting traced patterns. YMMV of course. ------

My blade was dull. I bought another blade and now it works fine. Overall, the cost was way more than my Olfas and I don't think it works any better. I also prefer the ergonomic Olfa, it feels better in my hand.
Recently I bought some replacement blades from KAI. Haven't tried them yet but I'm hoping they're a step up in sharpness and durability. ------

Date: 11/4/12 11:51 AM I'm unimpressed with Ginghers in general. When I started sewing I always had heard that they were the KING of all scissors, so bought a pair of dressmakers when they were on sale at JA.... I was disappointed!
I bought a Fiskars rotary cutter which works great and now I just bought a Kai version in the smaller size. I'm REALLY liking the Kai one. Although they are somewhat pricey as well, after reading a lot of reviews on here about Kai in general, I would rather spend my money on those than Ginghers... just my two cents :-) ------

Date: 11/4/12 12:33 PM I love my Gingher scissors and seam ripper and have several scissors models of theirs. But for a rotary cutter I just bought a Fiskars which has at least a tiny bit of finger protection. I need all the help I can get and don't want to cut myself. This is the cutter I bought with a nice coupon at JAs of course and the photo is about the actual size!

Date: 11/4/12 12:46 PM My Kai rotary cutter is my FAVORITE! I have a gingher and several olfas as well, abut the one I use the most by far is the Kai. I love the way it handles. I also love that it is designed to always have a blade cover in place that just slides back when you put pressure on it. It also lets you set the cutting pressure. ------
