Padding out dress forms

Date: 11/4/12 7:58 PM (I'm not sure if this should be in the dress form thread, but since it's not directly about buying one...I wasn't sure) Threads ran a story in July about making removable padded jackets/covers for a non-adjustable form to make them fit a variety of sizes and shapes. This seems like a great idea, but would it be possible to make a "male" cover for a "female" form or vice-versa? Would this work in theory, or has anyone actually done something like that?

Date: 11/4/12 8:17 PM From what I remember about this method, you will have an inner layer to fit the dress form and then and outer layer made to fit you exactly. In between is the stuffing. I am thinking if your initial form is small enough and you are a bit larger enough it could be doable and a pretty good idea. I say give it a shot. ------ http://lasewist.blogspot.com/

I saw the Threads article and it was helpful. Date: 11/5/12 1:46 PM I've seen Peggy's videos too and she basically seems to say that as long as the form is smaller than the person, you shouldn't have a problem padding it out...do you think that's a fair assumption? Stirwatersblue, sorry the article doesn't seem to be online but it's in issue 161, and is called "Fit for everyone" by Kenneth D. King. You may be able to get a back issue.
