Date: 11/6/12 0:11 AM Hello,
does anyone have a great pattern recommendation for a single yard of fabric? A shell top or skirt perhaps?
Thank you in advance!

FWIW, if you do any costuming for Renaissance fairs, it takes about 1 yard of fabric to make most bodices/corsets and doublets/jerkins for men. (YMMV based on size, of course, but it's a good guide.) ------ ~Gem in the prairie |

Date: 11/6/12 4:28 PM Last May, there was a One Yard Challenge. I couldn't find the Gallery or contest report...maybe someone can...but that should give you lots of ideas. ------ 2009-113.25 yds

Date: 11/6/12 10:21 PM I haven't tried it yet, but the portrait top in Gertie's new book has a couple of good reviews and only takes a yard. I have a yard of liberty lawn hoarded for that pattern:) ------ Yards sewn 2012: 34

2 members like this. Date: 11/6/12 11:30 PM I have 1 1/2 ids of a beautiful mossy green and tan tweed that I bought at the old Poppy store in Berkeley, Ca 36 years ago to make a mini skirt for my then petite body. It has survived several moves and house cleaning assaults and even though I don't have enough to do much, I can't bear to give it away. Help!
