I just started a quilt for a dear friend of 20 years. She is a music teacher so using that as theme. Last night while I was working on it, I realize it never fails to amaze me how creative you can be with an embroidery machine.Especially these days. I brought some stippling designs a while back from someone on Ebay and just started using them on this quilt and they are so pretty and stitched out beautifully on both sides.I also like combining designs. I have a note designs and and place them at various places and stitched them out in different colors. I just have simple software the basic Janome editing program from 10 years ago and Embird and there is so much you can do with that. There are just so many options to do things. People might think of embroidery machines as just doing kiddy designs etc. But there is so much more out there now. The field has really evolved in the last 10 years or so. And the artwork behind the designs has come to be amazing. And the prices of machines has come down quite a bit also. There are now machines at every price level. No matter what kind of sewing you do you can use embroidery in it. I do so wish I had one when my daughter was small. Since I made most of her clothes until she was about 7 I could have decorated them so cutely.

I agree totally. I am always amazed at what different things can happen with a creative mind and an embroidery machine. I had 3 daughters who are adults who love getting happies from the machines but I would have done anything to have had one to embellish their childhood clothing and to make fast inexpensive gifts for never ending events like birthday parties and all the gift exchanging they used to do with friends and the many teacher gifts. The stippling designs sound awesome. My fantasy that I need to do is some sophisticated designs with stoning on a special dress and jacket that I sew. I had one some years back but sadly outgrew it so need to make a new version. I really want to hug the embroidery machines every time I make something neat by using them. To me they are the most fun things ever sort of like icing on a cake sewing wise.

Our daughter made a quilt for FD last year. She brought over the blocks to embroider. I used Loralei's basset hound collection. DH just loves it for his chair lap robe.

My current project is an OESD design collection that makes a children's book called "Friends in the Sea 123 3D." The collection comes with 2 pairs of 3D glasses. It's a Christmas gift for my grandchildren. Love my embroidery machine!

Haven't heard of this one -sounds so cute. I will have to go look it up. Everytime I do something fun or fabulous I get excited all over again about the hobby. I really love love love machine embroidery and what can be done with it. I never cease to be amazed at the neat things people (including me) can dream up and do with these machines.
