Well, it's about time I finished this. I am pleased with it - especially since someone here recommended I use a zig zag type stitch to quilt it. That really hid all the imperfections. It fits nicely - it's elasticized. I wanted something sort of plain, and this fits the bill. ------ Bernina 730E, 530, and 350PE

Date: 11/6/12 8:03 PM I've never seen a fitted, quilted table topper before - how unique! It turned out very nice and looks warm and inviting. Nice going! |

Date: 11/6/12 8:11 PM Yes, it would!
I did design this one myself haha. I did the center, and added a row of the yellow. Then I sat it on the table and decided to do the brown rows. I took so long to do this that the matching placemats don't look so great on it, so I may leave them off.
Once it was large enough, I sat it on the table like I wanted it to be, and went around the table, folding it to the bottom edge, and marked it with chalk. Then I cut it 2 inches larger than that, stretched the elastic and sewed it on. It really was very easy.
The table was my Mom's and the finish is awful, but it's rock solid wood. I can't afford to refinish it, so I got this idea from a vinyl elastic cover she had for it. I do plan to make a couple more - maybe a Christmas Lone Star! That would be great, for next year. I just need to find a Lone Star pattern the right size. ------ Bernina 730E, 530, and 350PE

Date: 11/6/12 8:59 PM Your tablecloth is both tidy AND attractive. Nice job!
Did you ever watch someone get tangled up in tablecloth overhang and accidentally pull dishes off the table? Won't happen with your tablecloth design!
Home safety, that's what I'm talkin' about!
