Date: 11/7/12 10:35 PM I have had a few days off, tried to stay really busy quilting. I finished the top last night and quilted it tonight - Here is a b-4 quilting pic. ------ Drag queen quilter!

I have a habit of looking for patterns in thing and sometimes I get board after I find the pattern -- I know for sure the Red and general lay out is the only pattern -- But, I still kept thinking -- Why dont I strip piece this?? All of the blocks are 3 inches unfinished. Im sorta getting myself curious how many quilts I can find with 3 inch squares as a base that look different. Im sure there are innumerable ones -- but ones I can make?? LOL I thought I had used the red sheet -- maybe not -- b/c there is a nice little red line on the bed of my machine now -- wont that be pretty when I wash the quilt --- ------ Drag queen quilter!

PortlandMaine   Advanced Beginner ME USA Member since 1/29/11 Posts: 1669	Login to reply to this post Like this post Date: 11/7/12 11:18 PM Hey thank you S - I re-read my post -- I assume people know I sew with recycled stuff -- all of this quilt is recycled sheets and the red one was a sheet I thought I had used .. I guess I dont know where it came from. B/c it was new enough fabric that it left a red stain on my machine bed. My friends and family give me so many things -- I cant keep track of it all. I did just get a bunch of sheets that were left overs from a sheet factory that used to be here -- that must be where it came from. Any tips to keep it from bleeding too much in the wash? I finished the FMQ tonight -- It was a frenzy -- I like it. -- Edited on 11/7/12 11:40 PM -- ------ Drag queen quilter!

It took the color out even after it had bled onto the white fabric. Now I always put a sheet in when I wash a quilt. Your quilt looks like a real fun quilt waiting to be used. Nice work!

I cannot believe you were able to cut, piece, and quilt it all in 2 days! That's great! I agree--I like how you used similar fabric colors then used the red to be showcased. I also like how you showed a zoomed in photo of your quilting and it gave me such relief and made me happy! lol! For some reason, like a lightbulb went off, when I saw you had FMQ whatever you want---which btw, I like how there are swirls, right hand angles, squarish---I was like "you can do what you want when FMQ?!!" I ~know~ you can do what you want with FMQ, but then it was like I didn't know it until I saw your photo. Not sure this is making sense, but I thank you. LOL!
