For the first time in a long time I am pleased with the styles in the new November issue of Burdastyle Magazine. I was really anxious to sew dress #136 because it looks so pretty and simple to make.

What a shock when I opened up the pattern sheet! What a completely confusing maze of lines! I still cant find the lines that I am looking for. I just made up my mind that I am not going to renew my subscription to this magazine. At $90 per year, I don't need this kind of frustration. So after 8 years of collecting BWOF, now called Burdastyle, it is time to say Bye Bye Burda.

I've only bought one Burda magazine since the lines were compacted.

You can download the magazine patterns individually on the German site - much easier than sorting out those lines!

Yes, I have been downloading too. Many people don't like pasting the sheets together, but this does not bother me. I use waste paper that accumulates around the printer at work.

Another advantage is that I don't have the mags pile up. I used to buy them even if i didn't fancy anything in particular, just in case there was a 'sleeper' that I wanted later when I couldn't get the may anymore.

Now I just download what I want anytime. If I don't think I will use it again I bin the paper pattern and just keep the PDF. Storing the taped paper patterns is a headache, but the PDF are easy.

Thanks for this information. Good to know that the individual patterns are available for downloading.

With a little patience I've always found it doable, although I know the newer issues have more overlapping lines on each sheet. Are there still indications for each pattern on the edges/sides? I usually find that first, then once I find the start of one of the pattern pieces I'm good. I've read other people recommend going over the correct lines with a highlighter and then tracing so that you don't lose your place.

Where can I find the site to download the patterns? Are they the same patterns as what's in each monthly issue?

I love my burdasyle mag, but can relate to the the compacted frustration. The worst ones are the red lines going through the pink pattern pieces. Enough to pull your hair out.

What I would love to see is that as a member you can download patters for free from the website. After all you paid for the patterns already. The fact that I have a subscription is the only reason why I am not dowloading. I hate having to pay twice for the same thing.

Knitstitcher, you can go the burdastyle.com and to me, it looks like they keep the most current few months...nothing years and years old.

Agree, I had a new library book home of Japanese patterns with the same set-up. Cute styles, but annoying to trace, so I gave up.
Also getting tired of printing free online styles when it takes 25 sheets (H hates that!) so it's better to wait for $ .99-3.99 sales.
