I don't think any of us are experts, but perhaps we can help each other out a bit here on this forum!
I'll start by letting everyone know that within the software and on the Bernina website, are great tutorials on using various aspects of the software. It'll get you started at least.

I also highly recommend Creative Machines Workbook on V6, found HERE. On the right side of the page is a link to some demo pages of the workbook. There is also a V5 workbook.

If you go to Yahoo Groups and search for BerninaV6Software, you'll find a great group there too that Kari runs. There are some very helpful folks on that forum, great files and such as well.

Well, I've got this party started. Please share more as you find it. I will add to this as well.
Editor Plus owners please join in as well!

This is great!!!
I found a very helpful book called A Comprehensive Guide to Machine Embroidery from Country Stitches. It is one of the best general embroidery books I have seen. I just looked at Amazon but none are available. They come up once in awhile. Nancy Zieman's book machine Embroidery with Confidence is good too. I have not gotten a lot out of the Twigg books
I am just getting to the point that I really know how to hoop. I cannot believe how easy the Master Hooper makes it.
This is wonderful to have a V6 thread.

I've been taking a monthly V.6 software class at my local dealer's and also buying the monthly Software Sampler that Bernina offers. Both are very helpful and I'm learning a lot.

GREAT! Thanks for starting this. I will now be comparing V6 to the new TruEmbroidery Mac software. This will be fun.

(My Pfaff dealer is very sneaky. He called to let me know my machine was ready to pick up right before their HUGE one day sale. The mac software was not included in the Huge sale, well until I showed up and they made it hard to pass up because they know I am a sucker.)

I'm a sucker too. I've already ordered Paintworks and Crystalworks (I already own Cutwork). I just hope I get inspired to use them.

I love my V6 software, but I am definitely curious about the TruEmbroidery for the Mac. I am hoping to get away from work and go to a seminar at my dealers on Thursday. That might be a mistake, lol.

Thanks for starting this topic SouthernStitch. There is so much to share about V6

I will revise the first posting to let everyone know that Editor Plus owners are of course welcome too.

Are most of you artists who will embrace the digitizing part? I'm not an artist, though I've dabbled a bit with the digitizing, and changed some designs around a bit.
I think what made me choose DP over EP was that if I want to do multiple hoopings, the software supposedly makes it very easy. SOMEDAY I will try that, but I'll start with the oval hoop.

My tip of the day: Everything will automatically center in the hoop. If you want to be able to move your designs around the hoop, click VIEW/HOOPS/ and click MANUAL for design centering.

I am joining the part, but have nothing to contribute yet....only learn!
I haven't installed my software yet, but will do it by Monday. I have just gotten my new Bernina 780, and made a little baby blanket yesterday for a shower today. I really wanted to do a small hand stitched looking label on it, but had no idea where to even begin:/
The tools are only useful if you know how to use them! I feel that I have a bit of a curve ahead. Will be looking to all of you for help and support!

I have v6 and love it. My dealer runs a monthly software club and we learn something new every month. Right now we're working thru the Otto Windler classes - these I think are also in the Yahoo group, but if you can't find them, let me know and I'll find a link. We go slow, though... I think this will be the fourth month we are working on stitching concentric circles!
