I stumbled across these awesome lace zippers while browing on Etsy today. (NAYY)

Link

These would be so cool to use as an exposed zipper, which is a technique I have never used. Would these be terrible hard to sew in neatly. I think it would be such an awesome design detail on a simple skirt or the like. They seem to come in lots of colors.

Ugh, I can never seem to get pics to load. If someone knows how to add it to the post I'd be very appreciative. :]

Very pretty! I have no idea how to answer your questions but I'll be watching this thread.

Have you tried asking the Etsy owner?

They would be very cute in children's clothes.

I have these! I bought them at the fabric market in Seoul, and planned to use them for exposed zippers on a dress or skirt. I think a hand-prick installation could be easily done on these.

I just picked up one of these in black at a local shop!

They had one used asymetrically in a ponte knit top. It started on the left shoulder and finished on the right hem. It was really cute. The thought I had was to use it in a cardi or jacket pattern of some sort.

Edit to add I just saw that the Etsy ones are 9" long, the one I bought was 21" long and not much more in price than the 9" ones.

I ordered a mixed colored bundle of 9" zips from this Etsy owner. They took a bit of time to come but were fine when they got here. I am going to use them as exposed zips on the front of some knit tops. The one I used on the back of a skirt was really cute.

I just made a skirt using a lace zipper (Silhouette patterns Michael's Skirt 2910). Using the lace zipper was very easy. I just finished the edges (where the zipper would go) and top stitched each side of the zipper down. The colour of the zipper lace (black) and the thread (black) and the fabric (black and blue) all blends together. I think they would work for jackets/hoodies - almost anything where a zipper is required. Well, maybe not a fly front pants . . .
