I just spent most of this day cutting more pieces for this quilt!

I have had to go back to the mat to cut more twice!

I just spent 2 hours standing at the iron opening the seams of the most recent batch of HST. 2 hours at the iron! I filled the pot 4 times!!

This quilt has used up almost my entire stash of red fabric. Im just shocked how much fabric this quilt is eating up.

I had to order the newest book from quiltville - b/c I really need some new ideas for quilts -- I never thought I was going to make patterns but -- I need some patterns to make!

Here is the pattern I am making now -- I plan to have the finished quilt be 4 pf those 20 inch blocks wide and 5 long -- but, we will see....

I really dont have that much more red in my stash. Not that I am opposed to buying more -- I just am in a cleaning out mood -- not so much in a buying more mood.

But, I did just find out someone wants to buy two pink dots quilts -- so Ill be right at the salvation army getting fabrics for those --

I would love to know of more website like quiltville with lots of quilt patterns -- I have done some looking around -- but -- not found much --

What other quilts have you guys made that just suck up fabrics? I have some fabrics that I would love to go --

wow, how do you do it, you do inspire us newbies. When do you have the time to do these quilts? iI have a question then for you.
I can't bind my quilts on the back by hand. I have arthritis in both hands so machine attaching is better for me, but it is tricky sometimes. Any ideas???

I have the same problem, one method I learn is to sew the binding to the back instead of the front and bring it around to the front and use a blanket or similar stitch to attached it.

Have you looked at the Moda bake shop yet? Great patterns, all free.

A lot of fabric manufacturers have free patterns on their websites.

Quilt magazines are also a great source for patterns.

I do love HST! I am trying to get a rag quilt done for Hurricane Sandy victims using HST.

I'm also using this hst for a my quilt project I'm doing for my friend. I find that I'm more accurate just cutting the squares and then sewing instead of doing the drawing thing on the square.

I just iron one of them along the center, then use that as a guide. If I don't mind small HST I use Jenny Doan's method and sew along all 4 sides then cut.

Last night I was sorta shocked when I noticed I had created a block with 100 pieces in it. What was I thinking?

I have more time to work on quilting than more people do - so thats why I can get more quilting done than most people --

I skip doing other things - like laundry too. Now, that its late fall Im not out working the garden and I decided to drop my classes --

Im good at getting the quilting done -- everything else .. not so much.
