There is nothing I need that badly or be willing to stand in line for that to face the crowds which I hate. To me it's all corporate made up nonsense that I really refuse to support anymore. The only thing I did do was go to Joanns later in the day. Really who needs more flannel? (Their usual special on BF). And of course now most of the stores are opening on Thanksgiving which I think is horrible. It's just greed plain and simple.
Actually if you've seen your Joann flyers they are having a much better sale then black Friday, now through the Wednesday before thanksgiving they are having specials various days and have another 20% off your order thing. This coming Sat 40% quilting fabrics I will be there bright and early. With the 20% additional off that's 60%. One of the days they are doing 50% notions wall. So to me they are really have their BF sale prior to BF. ------ quiltingwolf.blogspot.com |

Date: 11/12/12 3:16 PM I will be working from midnight to noon on black friday. I worked that last year. It was fun. It get busy for a while then is dyes off and gets busy again. Then it will be busy all day. Our door busters last all day. We had doorbusters that went ontill 1:00 for awhile but customers didn't like it. So our company desided last year to do doorbusters all day. We will have company( customers) all day. I don't know what our doorbusters will be but we should know soon.

Date: 11/12/12 3:37 PM I had planned on eating later anyway. Being a diabetic now I don't want to get too off track so want to eat at a fairly normal dinner time. I don't think she minds working. She likes the excitement. Wonder if she will still feel that if she has to work black Friday. I worked on black Friday when I worked at Joanns for a year. Never want to repeat that experience lol. Her dollar store also sells a lot of groceries. I was quite surprised I hadn't been in one in a while. Now that's she's educated me I've been doing more shopping there not much for food but everything else. ------ quiltingwolf.blogspot.com |

Date: 11/12/12 4:30 PM No not Black Friday ........ but I am thinking of venturing out for Small Business Saturday nothing really needed but may go to our local yarn shop & a couple of places close by on that day to support the small shops.. ........ I myself do not like the crowds & pushy people that seem to be shopping on Black Friday. .....

1 member likes this. Date: 11/12/12 8:40 PM I usually don't miss Black Friday. But, I only like to go if I can also scoop up things for myself as well really cheap. This year however, we are not getting the usual Christmas bonus at work. I actually don't see us getting one ever again. So, no not this year. We've cut our gift budget in half this year, and I'm happy about that.
