Donating sewing machines Where?

But are there any organizations that help people who've lost everything & are in need of a sewing machine? Like people hit by the hurricane. Thanks for the help.

They take machines to those in real need ...... all over the country. I have donated a couple of sm when they took them to the Appalacian area for families in need. Also you might want to call St. Vincent De Paul Society they give them to local families who are need. I hope this helps. ------ I am a gal from Kalamazoo.... oh what a gal... smile.... If you google you can find the name of the org. My guess is that they prefer mechanicals.

Date: 12/3/12 11:32 AM There was a very big article on the front page of our newspaper Saturday about the Sewing Machine Project. They are accepting donations of machines now to take to those hit by Hurricane Sandy & the following snow storm. The article said the need is great & they hope to have a small U -Haul full from our state to drive to the area soon. ......... I do not know if this has been mentioned in more detail yet . So I thought I would post it here. ..... They showed some Singer 99K, Stylist & others already collected 10 locally in our county & the county next to us. ..... I am thinking of donationg one of the girls as well, people really need & want them as many were lost the article here said. .... also taking to areas of the Applacian too for schools that cannot afford to buy them. .....
