I hadn't checked KnipMode's site in a while, but I was recently alerted to the fact that they've finally redesigned their website, and in doing so, have also added the ability to purchase individual patterns as pdfs for €4.99 or paper versions for €9.95.

KnipMode Pattern Shop

The prices look to be comparable to Burda's (even though KnipMode's magazine is rather more expensive), and the selection seems to be mostly from the last few issues (unfortunately the glory days of KnipMode during 2008-2010 aren't available), but I'm tempted by this twist dress, especially after reading Sigrid's review of the top version!

Has anyone purchased one of their pdf patterns yet and can comment on the experience?

Oh, and I love that when I roll my mouse over the patterns, it shows a clear view of the tech drawing!! Why can't the Big 4 and Burda understand that sewists want to see this??

I like this wrap dress. What an interesting design element.
Thanks for the heads up about the file size, I guess this is one of those things I am going to have to do at the office on a Saturday

File size? I don't see any mention of any file size in this thread?

Wow, really good website! I love that I can see by garment type, number of items per page, etc. but the line drawing roll-over feature just KILLS!!!!

I second the knit dress you like but I LURVE KM1107-11 :

KM1103-20 is cute too but the finished garment is a bit blah (must be the non-colors):

I think this new age in online sewing is going to be terrible for my budget...

OK, you are right, I think I read a comment about huge files on Sigrid's website.
Sorry, I am cheating and reading during moments of a busy day at work and I don't seem to be multitasking well...

Just chiming in to explain that the comment on my blog was referring to the explanation Knip Mode gave on their site for the construction of the asymmetrical twisted top (each page a separate file of about 20MB). I was NOT referring to their downloadable patterns. I have no experience with these, but I like the idea they are more accessible to those who have difficulty obtaining the magazine.

Sigrid
PS: only stitched the hem of the top yesterday and waiting for a photo-opportunity to write a review. It's a great pattern.

That's excellent news, thanks for the headsup.!

BTW, 20 MB per page, what were they thinking!

Thanks for posting about this great news
The .pdf patterns are very convenient, specially for those of ourside the EU.

The only disappointment is that KM don.t include PayPal as a payment option - Visa in Australia charges a hefty international transaction fee, whereas Paypal is convenient and no fees.

Love the twist dress too - off to look

thanks Melissa! I loved this top when I saw it on Sigrid's blog but there was no way I was going to buy this magazine just for this top!
