Date: 11/14/12 8:09 AM I only wear flats or espadrilles and favor ballet types for any dress-up. With a narrow arch, the best fitting ones have straps across the top. I want to add straps to other flats and embellishments like flowers to plain ones.
Wide band colored elastics work for this--has anyone done this with a hand needle or super-strong glue? Regular bands are always anchored either on the outside heel or the inside under the lining.
Local shoe shops want almost as much to add straps as a sale shoe costs! |

The important thing is to protect your hands. ------ http://bgballroom.wordpress.com to follow the progress on my next ballgown. |

Did you sew near the upper bound edge or further down
with upholstery-type thread & needle and just a regular
straight stitch? |
