3 members like this. Date: 11/14/12 7:32 PM Today was a great day. I met up with a fellow PR member in Olean, NY; my first meet-up ever. She was delightful to talk to, and the outfit she had on was beautiful. She told me she made it and I was awestruck. Beautiful fabric, beautiful design and a beautiful color. We were talking over coffee.
She's been to a couple PR weekends and told me about them. That piqued my interest. Then we got onto our fabric, patterns, and then she asked me about sewing machines.
And as such, I had to drop off a machine to the Singer Sewing Center (no, not the other two machines I've recently posted, but this one is Black Beauty, my 301) to be cleaned and adjusted. So my PR friend and I went there after coffee. And as always, Ron was very helpful.
Just after I turned away from the counter, leaving him with my machine--there it was.....
Now, I'd like to slightly change the subject here, but have you ever walked into a store, let alone a sewing machine store, and sort of look around, not noticing anything, until something "over yonder" sort of sticks out from the rest? You know--when the trumpets and timpanis play a tune similar to that of 2001 A Space Odyssey as soon as you see something? Don't you sort of "feel a connection"?? Well, today it happened to me....
There it was....all shiny and black. A fabulous looking 301! And guess what? The price was right, it came with half a dozen feet, and Ron tossed in a buttonhole attachment. My new found friend seemed surprised I could do that so quickly, but hey, it was there....
And not only did I buy that one, but a Singer Concerto 9217--the Touch and Sew I've been pining over. Oh such fun! Like fabric shopping online (with what little of that I do nowadays).
But now I have to get serious and decide which of my other machines are going to "good homes". I'm up to over 10 now. How many over 10? I'll plead the "Poor Piglin Protocol" and just not say... ------ "We don't impose our rhythm on Nature. The key is to respect and live within Her." Jean-Charles Boisset, Winemaker
"And no, now that you asked, I didn't enjoy that play one bit, and I'd like a refund" Signed, Mrs. Lincoln

Date: 11/15/12 7:39 AM Oh so that's what that harmonious sound is when one zeroes in on the sewing machine that is coming home with you. Lol! Good luck at deciding to rehome. I can't decide to send a single one packing. Enjoy your singer finds. |

Subject: Okay, Ill Fess Up Date: 11/15/12 11:56 AM Boy that's great... optimistic news.
I got this wonderful tall cabinet at the antique/thrift mall. 15 1/2" by 15" by 6 1/2 feet tall. All glass & wood w/ a wonderful door w/ 5 shelves. Am going to use it to display my oldies. The new computerized are too big.
Would rather see them than have to put them away in storage.
It's such a beautiful compact cabinet that I'm looking for anoher one. Think it was made in Indonesia. |

I saw that..
I did lose count and am too occupied elsewhere.. aka lazy.. to count them all now.
But the real reason I don't count them is because I may discover there is a model I don't have.. which would lead me directly back to SMAD .. the reason I have too many machines to count in the first place. |
