I have a friend that is really wanting an embroidery machine. She found the Bernina Deco 340 and the Brother 770 for the same price and is wanting to know which is the easier to operate and work with. I am not really familiar with either that much although I tend to advise her towards the Bernina. Does any one have any thoughts Both machines are supposed to be new and never been used. Thanks

I had the Janome 350E (before I upgraded). It is the clone of the Deco. I had no problems with it. I looked at the specs on the Brother 770 and it comes with more fonts than the Deco/Janome.

The Brother has an automataic threader, mine was a manual type.

I think the reviews on both machines are good. The Brother has more built-in designs, if that is important to her.

The Brother goes at a speed of 650 spm and I am struggling to remember, but I THINK the Janome went at 700? Not even enough to matter in my opinion.

If I were your friend I would go with the best dealer support.
