This has been discussed, but can't fine the Thread.
I ordered some pricey upholstery-weight fabric for Christmas gift pillows--chemical finishing smell included.
I did wash and vinegar rinse on Delicate and hung outside for a day too. Now what?
I read some put in a tied plastic bag with baking soda or coffee a few days, but then a former dry cleaner said don't ever put in a plastic bag. This also is a problem with estate-sale fabrics and trims or those stored too long in basements.

I do not think a plastic bag would damage fabric, over a short period of time like a few weeks.

The baking soda and/or coffee (but not together) might help, but a firmly set chemical residue or out-gassing might survive all that. Still, worth a try.

I have bought some fabrics that had a chemical odor that simply would never go away after a few washings. Those fabrics got sent on to GoodWill and chalked it up to lessons learned the hard way.

Hi - I just bought come CDMF and it smells of petroleum based products, I have washed it 5 times and aired it out. Nothing has helped. I might be donating it too. Not much help from the on line store I bought it from. Live and learn, I guess.

I hope one of the experts on pr has some advice for you!

My dry cleaner says to hang the garments without the plastic bad outside out of the sun for a couple of days.
