Date: 11/19/12 9:30 AM Wondering if anyone has any experience with, "Sensations" brand yarns, carried by Joann's. I've never tried it. DH has asked me to crochet a baby afghan for an employee of his ( first time parents! ) and I always crochet a baby afghan for his expectant employees. I'm having some trouble finding a nice shade of blue yarn, ( it is a boy ) in more familiar to me, yarn brands. I'm actually considering using cream colored yarn instead of blue. Plan to crochet a basket weave pattern.
I appreciate any inpute.
Thanks much

Date: 11/19/12 9:33 PM Hobby Lobby is about 30 miles from here. Do-able. I found two options in my yarn stash today. How bad is that? Both Lion Brand yarns, one cream and the other white with speckles of baby pastels. Perfect. I swear, I did not remember I had either of these yarns. Too many books, too much fabric, too many skeins of yarn, too many patterns but not enough time.
I think I have a problem!
Still interested for future reference, if anyone has an opinion of the Sensations brand of yarn.
Thanks, tgm for your response

Date: 11/20/12 6:35 AM Hi.
I looked on Ravelry. There are several weights of Sensations yarns with lots of reviews. Most of the reviews I looked at, the knitters seemed to like the yarns. I've never used it myself, so I can't say one way or the other how I'd like it, but the projects people made with the yarns all looked pretty nice. There were hats, socks, sweaters. I didn't see any blankets though. |

Date: 11/20/12 7:29 AM Hi ghijsmom
I looked at the reviews as well. Read good things also. I think, I will make a simple project out of the Sensations yarn someday, just to see for myself. I don't want to invest the time in a project ( baby sized afghan ) that is a gift, if the yarn is not good quality. It would be so embarassing if it "pilled" after it was washed.
When this project happens, I will post a review of my own personal expeience with Sensations yarn.
Thanks for your response
