Should the lining for a bias cut skirt be cut on the bias?

I think it depends on the fabric and style. For instance 1 piece skirt vs, skirt with center front seam. Silk vs corduroy.

My grandmother taught me to sew when I was 10, and I've been sewing ever since.

I've made a couple of bias skirts, and I did cut the lining on the bias.

It is a two piece aline longish skirt. The fabric is a mystry fabric but it did come out of the washing machine and dryer looking OK.

Frankly, I'd make the lining on the bias, too. If you're interested in drape, why not go all the way with both layers?

If it's a slim fit in the hips, you may need the bias cut - if cut on grain without adding a couple of inches, it may be too tight.
