Date: 11/20/12 4:05 PM OK - I spend a lot of time here reading reviews but never posting! I have a Brother Innovis 1250. Works fine. I sew children's clothes... lot of knits... and I use a lot of funky and fun euro embroidery designs!
I have wanted to upgrade to a nicer machine. Same stitches and bells... just better handling.
I have an offer for a used but tuned up Bernina ARtista 180e -- complete with all of the feet, embroidery unit, dongle AND laptop that connects to it. Suggestions??
I have read the reviews. I just can't tell if it's a good deal/step up from what I've got? I'm mostly concerned with the age of the machine (6 years old total but moreso the age of the model) as compared to what I'm use to and software/etc of today's market? ------ http://www.facebook.com/BurlapButton

Date: 11/20/12 8:03 PM It looks like a very nice machine. for the price grab it. The machine on ebay go for about 1000.00- 2000.00 for that kind of a machine. I think you can upgrade your software to v4 or or newer for a newer computer. But if that software still work great just use it. I just bought a pfaff 5.0/5.5 upgrade just three weeks ago. I've been putting it through the test with contunued embroidering now for 6 days straight. With some rest on the machine. It justs keeps going. I paid 2,000 for my machine. Its only 3 years old.
Gooooooo for it!!!!!!!! ------ Galatians 5:22-23 The Spirit produces love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, humility, and self-control. There is no law against such things as these |

Date: 11/21/12 1:05 AM I think it is a great deal. Don't forget that is is still a top of the line machine with the wide stitch and plenty of bells and whistles. Ask if the software for the emb. unit is the latest and greatest and if the machine was up to date on updates as well. They aren't writing new software for it, but they did do a few updates along the way back in the day. I have a 170 and have all the upgrades on my software to the last versions written.
