Date: 11/20/12 9:56 PM is it true that kenmore sewing machines are going to be no more?
do you know who will take their place?
are their any other good "work horses" that give you that bang for the buck?
thanx |

2 members like this. Date: 11/20/12 10:03 PM I think the most recent Kenmores in the last decade or two were just Janome's in Kenmore clothing.
You might wanna start your search there.

On my radar someday: Babylock Serger, and some machine for travel.
My dearest wish is to have Bernina come out with a machine that doesn't give me a reason to *not* buy it.
2012: New Elna Lotus (mostly for granddaughter), Red Elna Press, Horizon 7700, Gidget 2 Table, Babylock Ellisimo Gold

Date: 11/21/12 12:11 PM It is true. I was sad about that, too. I agree with the previous poster, that since Janome was making those wonderful Kenmore's anyway, that is a good starting point. I actually bought my daughter a Magnolia 7318 and she's been very happy with it. As far as "heavy duty," I have been reading a lot about the Janome HD1000 and 3000. The reviews on Amazon's site for them are positive. So they might be a possible consideration for you. I've also read about the Singer Heavy Duty 4411 and 4423, but I'm not as sure, as the reviews don't seem as consistently positive. |

Date: 11/21/12 4:25 PM Overstock.com has the Janome 3000 & Sewist 500 both right at the moment. The prices are higher than Kenmore's were but both of these are suppose to be very good machines. ..... ------ I am a gal from Kalamazoo.... oh what a gal... smile.... Date: 11/21/12 9:25 PM Oh ...what about the Janome 2212? I have one & I really like it. Very nice stitch, sturdy too, handles fabrics well. ------ I am a gal from Kalamazoo.... oh what a gal... smile.... It is in Michigan... la la la ...love that Glen Miller classic!

Date: 11/22/12 6:30 PM My local paper is carrying an ad for Tuesday Morning holiday treasure hunt beginning Nov 23 at 8 a.m featuring a Kenmore model 19106 for $59.99. Any takers? Has this machine received good reviews here on PR? Ad states you save 60%. |
