I have a pile of jeans that have accumulated over the last few years (family member foolishly left them at my house thinking I was going to replace zippers or mend them ).
How do you turn them into a denim skirt?

Thanks skae, It is a lot easier than I thought it would be. Look out world here comes Ada in a denim skirt (maybe 2).
Oooop! These are my son's jeans so they are going to be to big in the waist and hips.
I will have to think about taking the waistband off and cutting it down for me.

Another option, if the jeans don't fit in the waist and hips, is to cut gores from the legs and make a simple gored skirt. You can flat fell the seams to maintain a bit of that jeans look.

We used to do this years and years ago. You can add ruffles around the bottom in a cotton print too (it was the 70's haha). It is not hard. Good luck!
