Date: 11/24/12 8:34 AM I just got Big Bertha back from the shop--$83 for her snit about the buttonholes. I noticed that the lettering, especially the script is really strange; like before when I sent her in (which tells me this is inherent to the machine)
When I start the script lettering, upper case, then go to lower case, there is a large gap between the two letters. Is this the same on your machine? It doesn't happen with any other lettering; just the script. Maybe it's just for monogramming, and if so, why are there lower case letters?

Date: 11/26/12 11:47 PM My 7700 does the same thing. I have learned to manually move the fabric closer when I start the next letter to compensate and eliminate the gap. |

Date: 11/28/12 7:10 PM Great tip! Thank you! I'll have to try this. You'd think with all the money Janome makes off these machines, they'd get it right... ------ "We don't impose our rhythm on Nature. The key is to respect and live within Her." Jean-Charles Boisset, Winemaker

Date: 11/29/12 8:16 AM I've got a 6600 and there are three different sized spaces (numbers 97, 98 and 99 on the alphabets flip chart under the threading diagram). You might be able to play with those a bit to reduce the gap without shifting the fabric around. |

Date: 11/29/12 8:21 AM I recall having this problem with my 6600 as well.
Haven't done any lettering on it in quite some time but it does ring a bell. ------ Linda

Date: 11/29/12 8:22 AM They're 67, 68 an d69 on mine and I'll try that! One of them, I believe 68, has a very narrow width in the box. Never knew what they were. Thank you! ------ "We don't impose our rhythm on Nature. The key is to respect and live within Her." Jean-Charles Boisset, Winemaker
