I wanted to come in around 5K and both of these machines were looking good to me. The Brother has that wonderful, huge harp and the pen-point embroidery. The Pfaff has that legendary IDT for quilting and a massive 360mm hoop for embroidery (or quilting in the hoop).
After much consideration I went with the Pfaff Creative Performance :wow:. I won't wax on too much since the 'purple haze' thread is already out there My reasons were simple. Th nearest Pfaff dealer that I felt comfortable with was also the nearest Brother dealer and after side by side comparison and checking my pennies, I felt the Pfaff had everything I needed in a machine for the number of dollars I had. I did get it with the large embroidery unit and a few other accessories. Pfaff offered 60 months no interest financing on the machine so I bundled my extras into one purchase.
The dealer was the 'deal maker'. I reflected carefully (thanks everyone!) on how far was too far to drive when selecting my dealer and went with one located 5 hours away in Paducah. The distance doesn't matter since, as a quilter, I plan to go there 1-2 times per year anyways (quilt show and Hancocks of Paducah). I won't actually get it until late next week or just after that but I promise to write a thorough review once I have put it through it's paces. Huge thanks to everyone for their input! ------ I think every machine company has something great to offer. Vintage or cutting edge - everyone has its place! |

Date: 11/24/12 7:39 PM Congrats!! I think you will LOVE the machine. My Pfaff dealer is also a brother dealer, but I too went with the PCP, and I'm not sorry at all. It is a fantastic machine, easy to use and stitches beautifully. Plus the feet work really well and there are TONS to choose from. ------ Berninas 830LE ♥ Artista 630PQE ♥ 930 Record ♥ Juki TL2010Q ♥ Pfaffs Creative Performance ♥ Passport 2.0 ♥ Singers 221 ♥ 301 ♥ 500a ♥ Kenmore 1040 ♥ Elna 'Grasshopper' ♥ Tacsew T500 ♥ Babylock Evolution |
