Date: 11/24/12 9:58 PM Here's the deal, I placed an order for several items from an online retailer. I received it today and it's in a much bigger box than I expected. I started unpacking and found out why. I ordered one each of several small things, but on one ( a 10 yard roll of elastic) I received 10 rolls.
I know what I should do; it's not mine, I didn't pay for it, and I need to return it. BUT, it was not my mistake and I shouldn't be inconvenienced to correct it. So here's what I'm thinking. If they will email me a prepaid return label and I can shove it back in the same box and get FedEx to pick up, all is good. If they want me to pack it up and drive it to a FedEx location (or post office) and pay for the return shipping that's not good. We'll find out Monday how the saga ends.
Long story short, what would YOU do? |

Most of the time, they will bend over backwards to make it right.
But you have to start the process. |

Date: 11/24/12 10:12 PM I agree. You need to call them and tell them what happened. You never know. They could tell you to keep all of it, and make a happy for life customer out of you. ------ Quilting is relaxing to me. I love to play with fabrics, patterns and colors.

Date: 11/24/12 11:14 PM That happened to friend of mine, she orderd 1 item,(an air bed) but they sent a 2 pack. She called and they said they would send a return label, instead they sent 2 more of the same item. It took her about 2 months to get rid of all the stuff. ------ My grandmother taught me to sew when I was 10, and I've been sewing ever since. |

Date: 11/24/12 11:31 PM I would do exactly as you said...ask them to schedule a pickup and you'll have it ready to go. |

Date: 11/25/12 7:45 AM Just contact them, and see what they say and if they can arrange pickup. I'm guessing if they send 10 things instead of 1 they will appreciate it. And if they don't want to go through the trouble of retrieving it, you can always keep the extra's without the guilt
It once happened to me that I ordered a bunch of big comicbooks from the US, they accidentally send me two of the same instead of two different ones. I contacted them and they send me the right volume, and I got to keep the extra! (which I sold for a nice price haha) But that was probably because it wasn't worth the shipping costs to return it. |

This happens now and then.. 99 percent of the time.. they just tell you to keep the merchandise.. the other l percent they will offer to you at a deep discount. . They don't want to pay return shipping or ask the customer to do something that is clearly an inconvenience when its their mistake.
If they do ask you to return it.. make sure its within what you are willing and easily able to do.. and that would be for them to pay for and arrange the return shipping the wqy that is most convenient for you.
My bet is they will tell you Merry Christmas.. |

Date: 11/25/12 10:00 AM I would double check the invoice first, to be sure they didn't charge you for all ten rolls! |
