Here's a very nice Pfaff 1222E that I just saw on Craigslist: Link.

I am really fighting my SMAD right now as I absolutely don't need another machine. I already have a 6122, and I am trying to trim the herd I have...but if I were looking for another machine right now, I'd be all over this one.

P.S. It was also really hard to fight off the SMAD urge with that Bernina closeout sale in CO this weekend too.

HHmm....at that price, and knowing the model as they do - I would look inside the top at the cam stack for sure. Something there doesn't seem right - the price is way too low. BUT you never know.

I see quite a nice number of sewing machines on that CL. WOW to the Singer 404 in Boulder! ;)

You guys are so lucky to have Craig's Lists that actually have something besides ill-treated Singers showing up on them. Some of the photos that show up here really make me wonder what people are thinking...machines that have been gathering dust, rust and crud for years...do they really think someone is going to pay actual money for that hunk of depressing looking neglected sm?

Let's just say all modern sms are well represented in my studio.

While I get what you are saying, and lots of those neglected machines are overpriced junk, there are some of us who love to tinker with machinery that's not too far gone, and clean it up, de-rust it, and make it run again. There are bargains to be had!

A sewing machine is just a welder for textiles.

I DO hear you....here it is the same. CL is pit of junk in all areas and not all but most of the machines are past it. Now and then something good surfaces....but really - dirty and mangled, mice nests, even visibly damaged!
