Infinity Scarf questions Twist, no twist, stitch and turn, or not?

However, I don't have an Infinity Scarf and want to make some. Would love to hear if you've bought or made them. My impression is the basic knit tube has at least 1 twist in it before sewing up the short ends. A quick internet search showed no mention of a twist in written directions or on youtube. The twist would bulk up the fabric some and add drape. I even saw one that is just sewing together 25" pieces going across the fabric width. No stitching and turning a tube for a clean finished seam. There were also some nifty curled knit multiple strip ones. You cut 2 inch or so strips across a jersey knit and tug each one till the strip curls. Good to mention and link that in this thread- thanks! I troll the remnant bins for chiffons to make oblong scarves and narrow hem them. Now I'm thinking of knit fabrics with a bit more bulk and a warmer hand for the Infinity Scarf. Keep us posted on your accessorizing! ------ Sometimes she didn't always follow the recipe. Thanks for posting that. Here's another link- Communing with Fabrics Infinity Scarf It's from the fabulous blogger Shams; you'll frequently see her reviews here on PR. Her post is from March 24 of this year, 2012. She refers to the January 2012 Threads article about Koos van der Akker's Infinity Scarf. This one has a twist. Have to dig that issue up. There's a lot of creative potential in this loop of cloth. Fun too. ------ Sometimes she didn't always follow the recipe. Take 1.5-2m of silk, cut off the selvages and baby hem. Then do a french seam to sew up the short ends and top stitch it. No tube, no twist. I loop the scarf twice which creates the twist. I also fold the hemmed edges inwards lengthways. You can try this out by basting one of your oblong scarves closed and see if you like if. I have converted several of my previously oblong scarves, because the ends don't blow over my shoulder in the wind. -- Edited on 11/26/12 2:07 PM -- ------ Taking in is happier than letting out. I need the visual to succeed. Go to PBS shows or search Nancy on line and should be able to access the video.
