Okie dokie... I'm going to start a thread to post stuff I'm doing on my machines... Just knowing these machines... There is going to be a bunch of crossover between them in the projects I have in my head.

Darn *real* work & moving really throws a monkey wrench into getting as much sewing time in as I'd like... But tonight, I managed to get a few hours in to finish off embellishing some fabric for use in another Acorn Purse.

Just for fun, I put my 7700 aside so I could play with some of the super wide stitches in the EG. It's still so trippy to watch feed dogs throwing the fabric sideways ( besides normal forward & back) when it creates some of these decorative stitches that are twice as wide as the presses foot!

I'm writing this from my iPad... So it's not as easy to go grab a pic to post here... But here's the beginning of the blog page that I've started for this bag:

Acorn Bag Variation 2: Mardi Gras

I'm too tired tonight to be trusted to cut this one out right now... Lol... So stay tuned... But for tonight, I just wanted to show how cool this fabric turned out. IMO. :)

I can see your creative juices are really flowing. A real pity you have to leave your play for your work! I really love the purse pictured on the left as well. The design is just wonderful. Is that one of your originals too?

The purse in the upper left corner of the blog right now is from left over fabric from the first quilt I pieced this summer - the fabric is called Flower Doodle by Kim Schaefer. I love the happy, bright colors of that fabric.

The quilt I made from that fabric just needs the binding done... But in the move, the black fabric I bought for it went AWOL. I guess it will reappear when the time is right.

When I used to own a bead shop, we made these tiny little leather bags called acorn bags & embellished 'me with beads. I just super sized the idea & quilted that first bag... Second one is embellished ... Third has got some machine embroidery done for it... Fourth is out of selvages.. And I might do a fifth out of laminated cotton.... And I do have a sixth & seventh On my radar done out of up cycled thrift store garments.

I just wish I didn't have to waste time workin' and sleepin'!!!

What beautiful work! I'm very impressed with your designs.

I've been considering the Ellisimo Gold because I want to create some unique bedroom sets and draperies. It looks like the Ellisimo can do it, at least with your expertise.

Thanks for sharing.

Those stitches on the fabric are really lovely! They might be the only reason I might eventually regret selling my Bernina 830. Over on Craftsy they have a "Stupendous Stitching" class which is the same concept, lots of fun! I have a piece much like yours I intend to make into a bag as well. Love your color choices!

Nice job with those deco stitches. I rarely have the patience to play with the stitches to get such good results. I have the fault of wanting the project done too quickly.

So inspiring!! I love seeing your projects! This really show-cases how much difference specialty threads can make and also using the couched cord. I especially like that little bag!! So when you develop a pattern for it, let us know!

Gorgeous! I took the Stupendous Stitching class at Craftsy, and while I'm yet to do anything with it, I love this look. Very classy!
