Date: 11/30/12 9:22 AM Rosr CityTextiles in Portland OR carry the exercise/sport materials and are great to talk to. They also carry the good polar fleece used in nice jackets. Once a year a group of us travel down to visit fabric stores in Portland and the service is excellent. They also have all the zippers and hardware for jackets. They have a website and have encouraged us to call with any questions. |

Date: 12/1/12 8:55 PM Are you looking for knits or a lightweight knit/lycra?
I found some very high quality (and on the expensive side) knits made by Harmony Art at Stitch Simple. http://www.stitchsimple.com/shopping/default.asp
The store is actually liquidating everything except the Harmony Art prints (due to a baby on the way). I've gotten very high quality stuff from there. The pink rib and let it grow grey are awesome. The pink flowered ones (or maybe it's the purple) is available as a knit too but I don't think Stitch Simple happens to carry it. Soft, soft, soft. The sweet jane purple would make really cute pjs or nightgown.
The other place I've found really nice knits that you can touch is Hancock. They have some medium weight 100 percent cotton that is very nice. They have some with ribbed cotton/lycra that makes decent work-out clothing.
Another one that I am DYING to try but haven't yet is Hemp Traders. They have some very nice hemp/lycra/cotton that I think would be very nice. I have bought their hemp linens and the quality is awesome.

But at the moment, I am trying not to buy anymore fabric until I finish a few things in the bin! ------ I don't sew, I just shout and plead with fabric. Sometimes something wearable results. BearMountainBooks.com |
