Subject: BL Enlighten Serger Price Date: 12/1/12 10:15 AM I went to my local Babylock dealer with all intentions of buying either the Imagine or Enlighten that day. I read through all the information on both machines, reviews, and pricing before I went to the store. I settled with the Enlighten due to lighting and some other things.
When we started talking pricing they quoted msrp of $3499 and a 'special' price of $2199. This includes a trade in and the 6 accessory feet, inspirational guide, and 4 spools of Maderia thread that BL is currently as a promotion. When I look at the reviews here and elsewhere this price seems to be about $400 more than others have paid.
There is another dealer about 30" away that I can contact but I just wanted to get the opinions of others regarding the price. $2199 just seems to be really high. I asked about the Evolution and they said that was *about* $3500.
HELP please! Thanks Martha -- Edited on 12/1/12 1:31 PM -- |

Date: 12/1/12 10:30 PM The dealer I purchased from also quoted the MSRP of $3500 and a sale price with promo of $2200, same as yours - however I had no trade-in. This was in Oct., shortly after the current promo started. HTH's What blew my mind was the sale price of (I'm almost positive) $2900 for the Evolution. I was tempted. |

Date: 12/2/12 3:43 AM Unlike many other things, the prices for Babylocks, Berninas and Pfaffs tend to be less expensive in Canada than in the USA.
Congrats on your new Enlighten! I love mine to pieces, best serger I've ever used by miles! ------ I heart Panzy, Pfaff Creative Performance, the sewing machine love of my life! And Rupert (Pfaff 2023), Baby (BL Enlighten), Victor (BLCS), Ash (Bernina 350SE), Pal (Bernina 530), Kee (Bernina 750) and the Featherteen Flock!
Most of all, I heart Woo (HimmyCat). Until we meet again, my beautiful little boy. I love you. |

Date: 12/2/12 8:40 AM Thanks Lynn, that helps explain the gap between the US and Canadian pricing. There just seems to be such a large spread even within the US. Martha |
