Date: 12/1/12 8:33 PM I'm making a Harry Potter-style invisibility cloak for a friend to give to her sister for Christmas, and I'm looking for an appropriate cloak pattern. There are a few current patterns for historical costumes from the big 4 that could work, but they all have hoods, and the cloak from the book and movie doesn't have a hood. Does anyone know if there's a cloak pattern that doesn't have a hood or where the hood is optional? I know it wouldn't be hard to just omit the hood, but I thought I'd check here first.
Also, the cloak will be reversible, so I'm looking for a good clasp that will be easy to use no matter which way she decides to wear the cloak. Does anyone have any recommendations for places to get such clasps? Especially ones that might look Harry Potter-like. ------ Olivia, my Pfurple Pfaff Creative Performance

Date: 12/2/12 11:37 AM Here's one with no collar and no hood. It's a poncho, but it's easy enough to add length. This would be a full circle cape, though, which is alot of fullness, and depending on the fabric, pretty heavy.

Twin Roses Designs has some gorgeous cloak clasps. The ones I've bought have been of great quality and beautiful too. She is a professional costume designer. NAYY, just love her stuff.
