Date: 12/2/12 11:18 AM OK - I knew this wouldn't be as easy as I hoped I do have an older computer that is compatible, so all SHOULD work. I just can't get the two to recognize each other? I have Artlink 2.0 that I'm re-installing now... I had the 4.5 that was dowloadable from the internet.
I am not trying to digitize or anything crazy. Just use my files that I have (in ART form of course) and transfer them and embroider as is! I occasionally resize but that's all.
This machine came with the computer the lady used! So it should work. I connect and hear the beeps - so I know my computer sees it but then that's all... no options to send or whatever? With my brother I would just right click and "send to" my external drive - ie my sewing machine.
Tips? Tricks? I know it's an older machine software wise but this should be working? ------ http://www.facebook.com/BurlapButton

Date: 12/2/12 12:40 PM Just make sure the com port is available you are using. Change it if you have to. You'll find it in the device menu of your computer. Artlink 6 is free on Bernina's web site. I use it on the laptop at my lake house on my 165E - that computer is running Windows 7. ------ So many projects, not enough time

Date: 12/2/12 1:14 PM what appears to be the problem (after reading about the com port things) is that the usb/serial port isn't functining correctly. My computer doesn't recognize it and cannot install/fix the driver? So I'm in the middle of trying to fix that :o/ Then I can try again with the connection to the darn sewing machine It's driving me batty as I have things I need to get done like 2 hours ago!

I had similar issues. My machine didn't reconize the sewing machine. After unloading and reloading puting in the divers and using blue words. $%%#$ It finally worked. Now i can embroder on both of my machines.

Date: 12/3/12 7:37 AM I was fit to be tied yesterday! Especially since I was using the darn computer that came with the machine. Apparently when I plugged in my other machine to that computer -- it goofed up all of the com port connectability for some reason. Dumb! But either way - I was thrilled to used my Bernina. The software is a touch older than my machine but the same if that makes sense and way smarter. So I don't feel like I took a step back! And the stitches are just lovely! So crisp! ------ http://www.facebook.com/BurlapButton

Date: 12/3/12 11:14 AM OK - it's not recognizing the large hoop Not jumbo... just a 5x7 hoop? This hoop came with the machine from the dealer. So it should work? Suggestions :o/ It just puts it as smaller on the screen? So I did "calibrate" it and still... not right? ------ http://www.facebook.com/BurlapButton

Date: 12/3/12 12:25 PM The new Artlink (version 6.0F) does NOT work with models 165-185. Bernina dropped support of these models. |

Date: 12/5/12 2:48 PM did you do a update on your sewing machine? Sometimes they update with the larger hoops. I know my pfaff 2140 only had the two sizes But when I updated the firmware it updated the hoops to.
Check the firmware and see when it was last updated. ------ Galatians 5:22-23 The Spirit produces love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, humility, and self-control. There is no law against such things as these |
