Date: 12/3/12 0:18 AM Hi! I'm a newbie to this board, and I'm working on some homemade Christmas gifts for my family this year. I bought the Avery fabric transfer paper to make labels that say, "Made with love by..." They came out beautiful, so I'm very happy with them. However, some of the gifts are made out of cuddle fabric, and you can't use an iron on it. So, I was thinking that I would sew them in. Does anyone know if I can just sew them in or if I have to somehow remove the paper backing from the iron on. This may sound like a dumb question, but I'm not sure how to do it. Any help or ideas is greatly appreciated! Thanks! Michelle |

Date: 12/3/12 1:29 PM You guys are awesome! I never thought of that! I will absolutely do that! I have an entire sheet of "Made with love by..." labels I can just iron on to a piece of soft fabric and then sew in. Why didn't I think of that!?!
THANK YOU!!!! |

Date: 12/4/12 7:22 AM Really like the idea of making my own- I've been looking at labels, but couldn't decide on 'mom'' or my name, and couldn' t find an 'aunt' one anywhere. And I'm not crazy about sew-ins, but ribbon sounds better, too. Thanks , all. -- Edited on 12/4/12 7:23 AM -- |

Date: 12/4/12 9:48 AM I just printed my own labels a couple days ago. I mirrored the label and then ironed them to a natural colored twill tape. They turned out great. You can find tutorials on Pinterest. |

Date: 12/4/12 10:53 AM I like the satiny ribbon- I save whatever I find that is soft ribbon or fabric and put in the initials of the child I am gifting it to so they can tell front from back.
Most items won't last forever, but if special or I think it may be passed down then I also add my made-by label. ------ re-living my youth through sewing... |
