Think I've fallen in love again. Anyone know what this goes for? I'm guessing around 2K?

I think you are in the ballpark with the price. It is a very pretty machine. Have you given it a test drive?

no not really in the market for a new machine. I just fall in love randomly with ones I can't afford lol. I like the looks of it but like the stitch package on the Opal better. I have the say when I would look at Vikings when they were in the Joanns thought they looked cheap and plasticy. But they've always had a good rep. This seems to be Viking's version of the Janome Horizon.

I've considered those Sapphires too, they are so pretty! And less money than I could get the Horizon for. Allbrands was still selling those at MSRP even though they are closing out!

I test drove the 875 this spring, great machine! My dealer runs specials every month, for black friday the 875 could be had for $1899, I think it had been around $2200

The problem is the sapphires were plagued with the same problems that the pfaff expressions had/have. i too love that machine and the expression 4 also but even all these years later, some are good and some aren't. I'm thinking a new series will be coming soon and i'm hoping it will be bug-free like the ambition. The Opal has no track-record but I'm betting its probably similar to the Ambition models.

Yeah I don't know anything about the Vikings. I think their rep has gone down with that deal that now has them owned by the same corp that owns Singer and is it Pfaff? If I were lucky enough to be able to purchase a new machine, saying without test driving would be the new Janome. Or maybe the non embroidery Dreamweaver.

Besides the embroidery combos, I think the sapphire 875Q has all the convenient goodies that I love and the combos have, mainly, the thread cutter, ESS and versatile sewing stitch options.

Having the "oh my I will never justify paying this high $ for a SM" Designer Diamond Deluxe, I love it more and more everyday. It is dream to sew on

I can't believe I still want the Sapphire 875Q too! and understand why you like the looks of it. I got over the plastic-ee look of the machine once I test drove it a few times. Now, I can't believe how solid and sturdy my Viking is and yet beautiful like a regular sewing machine. It sits right in the center of my family room.

I did read abut earliest versions of the Sapphire having glitches. I bought an early Pfaff Ambition and it had lots of trouble and they let me exchange it. It is a gamble on the first rounds of new machines and that turned me off of trying out new models for awhile.
