I didn't realize this company still manufactures sewing machines, and I don't know where in America you'd find one, but I was intrigued to see that they do still exist. The Kenmore 158's to me have always been the best of the Kenmores. This is the top of the line machine on that site. I wish they were more widely known and had more TOLs.

These Jaguar machines are made by Janome. The Kenmore 158s were made by Maruzen.

Well, that figures.

Good thing that I'm not really into new machines anyway. I always wind up disappointed in them.

Jaguar is Maruzen; Maruzen changed to Jaguar in 1978.

Jaguar tried getting into the U.S. market in the early 90's with their own models and buyers just didn't take to them. I remember seeing ads in Sew News magazine.

Jaguar makes a lot of machines for Singer now. Like the Singer Futura ones.

I'm pretty sure Jaguar doesn't make sewing machines anymore. The Jaguar-branded machines are all made by Janome. I could be completely wrong though.

I see a Singer Futura twin in this picture from a trade show:

And who doesn't recognize these
sergers? I've seen them as White, Singer and Viking models.

Here is their company outline: Planning, design, manufacturing, export and import, marketing, domestic sales and after-sales service of household and overlock sewing machines. So they are doing...something...somewhere...

When I say Futura, I mean machines of this last prior decade or so, not of the same name in prior decades and not more Touch and Sewish with older wind in place bobbins at all. It is confusing when machine companies dreg up old names and use for newer machines. Here is a cute movie if you want to see them sewing out. In Jaguar speak some would be model SP-3000 or maybe SP-4000. And SP-3500.

Not sold in the USA though, and lettering would be in different characters of course. They used to even have their own Jaguar web page for them, when the machines were new and first out, quite a few years ago, I don't know where that is now. I believe SP there, stands for Sewing Printer! Which is kind of just another way to look at it.
