Do you do a system backup on your computer?

I have been using 'CrashPlan' for some time now and am VERY happy with it. I tried 'Carbonite' but didn't like it nearly as well, it was tedious to use. Date: 12/5/12 2:31 PM I learned the hard way about not backing up my data when my hard drive crashed. The tech was able to retrieve some of this information but not all and it is expensive for this service. I agree that anyone using a computer needs to back up their data - whether it is through another service or an stand alone peripheral. Don't procrastinate on this one. ------ Kemish

I use 2 GB micro sd's that just slip into a card reader on the front of my machine. Sometimes they also get a second backup on a spare computer I have. If I have a major disaster, I'd rather just take that opportunity to reinstall the OS and my apps. However, for those not at home around computers or who really want convenience, then any of those backup programs is better than nothing. BTW, even if the worst happens and your files are not backed up, they are almost always retrievable. It's expensive to have done, but if you or a friend are comfortable hooking the hard-drive from the dead computer as a second hard-drive in a working machine, you will often (but not always) be able to see the files to retrieve.
