This is top #2...It looks larger than it is..it's a crib size. I just finished it and was looking at it to decide what design to quilt in it.
I was thinking an outline 1/4 inch from the seams, including the border seams. Would this be the best way to go? Would that be close enough that the batting wouldn't shift? Also, what color thread would you use?

For those of you interested, this is a true Pacific Northwest quilt! The pattern designer(Laurie Shifrin), fabric artist (Lida Enche), and fabric company (In the Beginning) are all in the Puget Sound/Seattle area...and it's hanging in the PNW rain!

Awk!!! Sideways again!! I think it's Photobucket..I took the picture right side up.

The curves remind me of fish. I live south of you, so naturally that would come to mind.

I like the colors. What fabrics did you use. What will the backing fabric look like?

All the fabrics are from Lida Enche's Painted Summer collection. This was a prepackaged kit from the Quilting Loft in Seattle. They had a lot at the Quilt Show in Puyallup last month, but none are listed are their website now. Pink Chalk fabrics does have some listed currently. They feel as if they have no sizing or finish on them...very soft...Come summer, I will be wearing some as tops!!

I think I'll go with a solid in pink or green for the back...

Very cool! I would probably put pebbles in all the blue and green center sections, and star/sunbursts in the circle wedges, and use both green and blue threads. To keep it simple, I'd probably do bead board in the borders.

Well I had to look up what bead board is and then found a utube video. So amazing what you can do with with those quilting machines. Thanks for opening my eyes to other quilting ideas CJ.

Great!
