Date: 12/9/12 9:42 PM Looking into buying a Blindhemmer
Machine as I have a ton of drapes to do - I know problem not the most useful machine but also plain on opening small sewing shop in a few yrs time anyways. I saw some on eBay and allbrands. I'm leaning towards the consew 75t or the tacsew Blst2 - there r some reviews on the consew one but not many on the tacsew blst2? Does anyone have this model or not? I know they r prob made in china but I don't want to spend tons on one right now. I've also heard mixed reviews of buying from allbrands? Should I be Leary? ------ http://sewchicmama.blogspot.com |

Date: 12/10/12 9:38 AM I purchased my Consew 75T on Ebay. I haven't used it lately but it was fairly simple to set up and with some tweaking it was working pretty well on hemming pants. It is made in China and the plastic cover that came with it was quite low grade so I left it outside to off-gas for a couple of days. The machine itself is heavy and for the price, I'm happy. You can pick up extra needles from Cleaner's Supply, I sent them an email asking them about the types of needles I need for this machine and here was the very helpful response:
The LWx6T and the LWx2T are the same needle. Different Manufacturers use different needle systems that correspond with the type of needle used in the machines. any of the following needle systems will work in your machine:
29x34
29x49
2140TP
LWX2T
LWX6T
SY7395
Y7396
If we can be of any further assistance please do not hesitate to contact us.
It's been almost a year since I last used the machine, I really should get it back out again. ------ I'm finally a blogger!

Date: 12/10/12 9:39 AM To clarify, I left the machine outside to off-gas because it stunk from the plastic. ------ I'm finally a blogger!

Date: 12/10/12 10:47 AM I have narrowed it down to the consew 75t and the tacsew blst-2 both are within the price range that i wanted to spend. Which one would you pick if you had these to choose from? ------ http://sewchicmama.blogspot.com |

Date: 12/10/12 1:21 PM I think I've decided on the consew 75t. I'm going to order needle through cleaners supply as i just don't need tons right now. I am doing drapes for 3 large windows currently but will need more for my other windows as well. I'm using a medium weight home dec fabric for outter, a double napped interlining and lightweight drapery linnng. I have no idea what size of needle to choose for the job. As i would like to order a a pack for light weight knits and hemming dress pants. what size needles do you have for these tasks? ------ http://sewchicmama.blogspot.com |
