My hands looks like I've been out pickin chickens! Right now she is in her cage sleeping and it is quiet. Yes!!!!Sophie |

BTW, bite inhibition is one of the EASIEST things in the world to teach a puppy, since it's something they learn from birth from their mom and littermates. It will take longer for me to type it out than it will for Sophie and you to learn it.
1. If she bites you or puts her mouth on you, let out a little yelp (like a littermate would do). She'll be startled into stopping.
2. If she does it again, yelp again and gently scold her, using your Alpha Mom voice: "No bite!"
3. If she tries it a third time, repeat steps 1 and 2, and then GET UP AND WALK AWAY. End the game. This is exactly what a picked-on/ticked off littermate would do, and she will learn FAST FAST FAST that all the fun ends quickly if she bites her playmate!
We had a litter of 9 pups from a stray we picked up (who spent the rest of her life with us!), and they were all trained not to bite by about 6 weeks old. :)
(Also, those teeny puppy teeth are like needles. Their adult teeth aren't that sharp. Not that she should be biting you as an adult, either!!) ------ ~Gem in the prairie |
