7 members like this. Date: 12/12/12 6:44 AM Today I bid a fond farewell to my Janome Memory Craft 3000. It has served me well since 2003, but is dying a slow death. Poor machine. I have worked it quite hard since that time, but even a recent tuneup has not been successful at restoring it to its stitching heyday. Sayonara, old friend. Off you go to sewing machine heaven.
However, today my new baby comes home. My Elna 740. Talk about the queen of machines! This baby is full loaded, and for once I thought, "I'm worth it!" DH told me to buy a new machine when my Janome was squealing in pain this past spring. Who am I to argue with that comment lol. I proceeded to get a tuneup for my Janome, asked to look at the new machines, and was sold on the Elna 740 for $1600 with my old machine as a trade-in. It has been on a 6-month layaway, and I scheduled the how-to class the same day as pick-up--today!!! Unfortunately, the instructor had to cancel last night since she has a respiratory infection, but that is not going to hold me up. I'll get some minor training this morning in the store and be ready to finish my Christmas projects.
I'm SO/SEW excited!!!!! It's going to be such a great day! ------ Big 4 Pattern size 12, RTW bottom: 6, RTW jacket 8, RTW top (no size fits me well!)
Measurements: 34 HB/36 FB (34C bra)/27.5/36 (and working hard to keep it that way.)
Machines: Sewing (Janome Memory Craft 3000 and Kenmore 158 Series machine), Serger (Babylock Imagine), Embroidery (Janome 300E)
If you think your sewing is better than everyone else's around here, get out of my way b****. I hate sewing snobs.

Date: 12/12/12 9:16 AM Oh my gosh! What a drool-worthy machine! I love the large harp space, and especially the foot storage. The accessories list is practically two pages! Congrats on your new baby. Now, what are you going to name her/him? ------ "We don't impose our rhythm on Nature. The key is to respect and live within Her." Jean-Charles Boisset, Winemaker

Date: 12/12/12 12:17 PM This machine is pretty much the same as the Janome Horizon 7700 (Janome makes Elna machines) but quite a bit cheaper and prettier. ------ quiltingwolf.blogspot.com |
