Date: 12/13/12 4:23 PM I know one of the main fitting rules is Do Not Overfit. However, I like to overcome any obvious glaring errors. I'm making some PJ's. I want them to be comfy and stylish. The last (never to be repeated experience) PJ I made for me is still languishing in the cupboard unworn as I am not comfy with the fit.
Photos are here thank you for your thoughts and comments!
p.s. if the fabric looks familiar, this is because I have used it already to make a baby PJ pattern. What a breeze, dont have to worry about fit other then length! |

Date: 12/13/12 6:09 PM My opinion: Nothing is wrong with these PJs. In fact, you want them a little loose because you want to be able to move around in them while sleeping. I've made a few nightgowns out of flannel back satin, and tried fitting them near my hips; what I get is waking up in the middle of the night, with the nightgown wrapped around me so tightly I can't move or barely breathe. If you're concerned about the wrinkles in the side view, I wouldn't worry about them as you might over-tweak the pattern and be really disappointed. The front and back are great!

I have now hemmed it, and just need to overlock the side seams and add the dreaded buttonholes! the buttons themselves wont be hard to attach (cute little white flowers with black centers to match fabric) themselves and then I can finally get to wear it as the bottoms are already done. |
