Here is a link to the contests running in 2013 2013 Contests
Here is what we have assigned for 2013. Thanks to everyone who has offered to manage! Bonnie D, Connie BJ or Clio

EDITED TO ADD SHEBEAR AS MANAGER FOR SEWING FOR CHILDREN IN AUGUST
EDITED TO ADD ASHFORD AS MINI WARDROBE MANAGER
WE NOW HAVE MANAGERS FOR ALL CONTESTS IN 2013. THANKS TO EVERYONE!
Here are some details about the duties of a Contest Manager along with a link to a tutorial.
1. Post the rules developed by the Contest Committee.
2. When contestants have questions about what the contest entails, the manager does his/her best to answer them.
3. When the contest manager can't answer a contestant's question, she should discuss the issue with the contest committee.
4. Assist contestants with adding their entries to the contest if they have trouble. Managers can refer to this tutorial:
Tutorial for Contest Managers
Again, if managers run into trouble with this, the contest committee is glad to help!
5. Inspire with examples, provide feedback, encouragement, etc.
Commonly asked question!
Q. How much computer expertise do I need?
A. If you can post messages on the forum, then you have all the computer expertise you should need.

I can do any of the 2 week challenge contests (or more than one if needed) -- just slot me in wherever it works and let me know when you need me.

Date: 12/17/12 7:48 AM I am willing to help. I might need to start with a short one just to get the feel for it first.
Can I ask? Does the contest manager generally need to be available round the clock on the last day or so in order to sort out panicked entrants?
There are a few of the contest deadlines that coincide with deadlines for my own work. ------ Sandy in the UK

Date: 12/17/12 3:59 PM As far as needing to be close by at contest deadline times...If need be the contest committee can step in if the manager is not available. Helping the contest run smoothly during the contest run time is the most important part.

Date: 12/17/12 5:19 PM Thanks Connie. I just know I couldn't cope too well if I needed to stay up to 5 am GMT to deal with last minute problems happening just before 12:00 midnight EST. ------ Sandy in the UK

1 member likes this. Date: 12/19/12 3:18 AM Connie, I can do the Handbag contest in January. I've not been sewing lately, and I think managing a contest is just the thing That would get me going again.
I've sewn only one handbag (though a number of small zipper pouches). I have a duffle pattern from StudioCherie that (though might not technically qualify for the contest), I'd love to sew along with that contest as well as manage it.
I'm really excited about this contest list! I have really sewn very little the last 6 months, and there is lots of stuff coming up to help inspire me to get going again.
Please let me know. :)
