I have both patterns and really am drawn to cowl neck tops. I have made the KS a number of times, but wonder if the Renfrew would fit better. I do shorten the back of the neck on the KS and raise the front opening. I have had to draft the KS and had terrible results on the last top due to using very stretchy fabric from Silhouette Patterns. Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you

Thank you.

Sunshine, I've never made the kwik sew, bu I have made 3 versions of the refrew. The cowl neck is on my to do list. I can't yet comment on the cowl, but if you tell us what your body type is, maybe we can figure out if renfrew would be right for you.

Sewaholic patterns are cut for "pear shapes", modest busted women with rounder hips. I don't much fit that category at all, but this tee still fits great. It skims the bust gracefully and, because I'm a standard hourglass, there is a bit of extra ease in the lower section, which is fine with me.

Renfrew is lovely, and surely worth a try. Tasia has a knack for drafting patterns that look great on everyone.

My shape is definitely a Pear and look forward to your comments if this would be the best for my figure. I have worked and worked with the KS to get it to fit one area, and then I must have made another area too big and between going to the mirror and sewing machine to take it in, a simple top took me a day and a half.

Thank you for your help.

The Renfrow gets glowing, enthusiastic reviews here, and on blogs. I hope to get it traced tonight....when I should be wrapping presents and making shortbread cookies.

Thank you for your response and just returned from JA? with fabric for the Renfrow. Just was given homemade shortbread and it was my first sampling of it. Do you use the hand stir method or the mixer method?

I've made the KS 3740. I do like it ( I chose a size smaller than recommended because I wanted it to fit more closely) but I am also going to try the Renfrew. I like the various options this patterns gives you.

Last time, I got out my immersion blender (one of those stick gadgets) and put the whisk attachment on it. I was a fool. There was soft butter all over the place. This time, I'll dig out the handmixer.
