Today I was shopping at a thrift store and found a Bernina 930. I can't test it, not their policy because they supposedly checked it already and they are asking $75 for it. It has the foot pedal and the knee lift and nothing else inside. The finish in front of the needle is worn off. There isn't even the table that goes around the free-arm. I probably wouldn't keep it for myself, but I would turn it around and re-sell it for $$$. Does it sound like something that would sell? It did have the original carrying case--just no accessory box.

WOW!!! If it runs well, at $75 it is a steal! They easily sell for $1000 when they are in good shape with all the pieces. I wonder how long it would take to find the parts on ebay. Can the finish be touched up?

I adore mine. Mine is in almost perfect condition and I plan to use it for a very long time.

YES! I've seen the hard cases alone sell for $50-100. If you didn't want it, you could flip it for hundreds if the machine works, or part it out for a more modest profit.

🌸 Plenty of machines, mostly Berninas 🌸

Agree. Never pass up a sure thing. There are plenty of people out there who will buy anything "Bernina".

The other day the foot pedal on my beloved 930 fell apart after valiantly serving our family well since 1983. I called my dealer and my good fortune, she had just gotten a 930 in house. Her debate was to refurbish or part it out. My phone call made her decision- the angel sold me the foot pedal for $25. And this is after she told me a new foot pedal goes for about $300! So, yes, zip over to the Thrift Shop lickety split. Lucky you. And you might consider keeping this fabulous machine for your lucky self.
