Date: 12/24/12 9:23 AM Is it possible to change the size of the largest decorative stitches? There is a snowflake one I would like to use for some quilting on a table runner. The design is just a tad bigger than the block I want to put them in. I won this machine in the Bernina sweepstakes and did not receive any classes for it. I have been sewing with my Artistas 630, so for the most part I should be okay, but was wondering about the decorative stitches. And, wow are they nice, I just need to have that snowflake a little smaller. |

Date: 12/24/12 9:27 AM I am not 100% sure about your machine, but the length and width of decorative stitches has been adjustable on all the bernina machines I have used.
Why not try it on a scrap? |

Date: 12/26/12 10:37 AM Since you are putting this on a quilt block, you must mean the largest ones that are considered *directional* stitches. I don't think the size of those can be altered. They are a different beast than the regular decorative stitches, which stitch out in a line.
I've never tried it, but you could try using the knobs like you would on other stitches. Getting it proportional would be easy if it works. One knob click down on one knob, and one click down on the other.
Let us know what you find. I'm not with my machine right now, otherwise I'd go experiment! ------ Bernina 730E, 530, and 350PE
