Hey guys, after having never touched a sewing machine since Middle School when I took Home Ec. I've decided to buy a sewing machine after the holidays (the LB6800PWR by Brother) and starting out with some simple projects. Anyway, because I find so many of the clothes sold off the racks of Target, K-Mart, etc. FUGLY, I'd like to eventually start sewing some of my own apparel. (One of the few places i've found somewhat attractive clothes is Kohl's, but I refuse to shop there due to odd image issues. The store doesn't have any changing rooms, and most of the men who shop there are all buff and change right there in the isles leaving me feeling inadequate!) Anyhoo....I can never find any jeans that are sexy! As I recall Levi used to have some sexy jeans but they were always far too expensive for me to afford, even now. However, I've recently seen some very sexy low rise jeans that I'd eventually LOVE to replicate! Any advise on doing precisely that? I likely won't move passed the sewing-from-a-pattern stage in quite some time. Any advise? Heck, perhaps some kind soul might take up the challenge and sending me a copy of this pattern for an adult 38" (waste) x 30" (long)? Hint, hint... LOL!

I just haven't seen any patterns for jeans that are, well, cute, let alone sexy! Oh, and the pic. of the jeans I was referring to is in the hyperlink above. :)

Ha! I remember when I was first learning to sew back in Middle School I was terrified of using the zigzag stitch, because it made the table and machine shake almost violently! Because I had to guide the machine so close to the food I was scared o accidentally sewing myself to the machine. Well, especially after our teacher regaled us with her machine-related horror stories. :P

Hi McMorrighan! Welcome to PR. You're in good hands here. If you already have a pair of jeans you like the Kenneth King jean-ius class shows you how to copy the jeans and how to construct it. The class goes on sale often so don't buy it at full price. If you don't have a pair that fits how you like it, you can purchase, copy and return a rtw pair. Or you can start with a pattern. In all these cases if the jeans aren't low waisted enough, that's an easy alteration. You need a good base first.

I would also highly recommend Kenneth King's Jean-ious class on Craftsy. I haven't made jeans yet but have watched the video and it's really great. He is a great teacher

I agree. The pattern won't help you very much because to get a good fit you will need to tweak it. And that is what is so wonderful about the classes. They tell you how to see the pattern pieces together so they fit your body. I am in KK's class and he is full of fashion ideas to make the jeans sing out that they belong on you! I am making them for my grandson.

I would also repost a message on PR and title it Searching for Jeans Pattern. Or something like that. Or search in PR reviews. Perhaps go to thrift store, buy a good fit and bring home to rip up snd use for your pattern.

That boy in the photo looks like he's wearing a pair of women's jeans. One supposes the term sexy is relative.

Thank you, I'll look into Jean-ius. Now, I'll just have to get ahold of a pair of those white and sexy low rise jeans! Only ever seen them in that one pic. :P And then of course there my FAVORITE brand that I can NEVER afford.....Levi with a button fly! :(
